Training teachers from the communities we serve
Scholarships help people who could not otherwise afford it to train as certified yoga teachers, and then teach where they live and work.
Why this matters
A class reaches people for an hour. A teacher reaches them for years. When a youth worker, a correctional officer or a young person from the neighborhood becomes a certified teacher, the community gains someone who can lead the practice long after any program ends.
Cost is the main thing that stands in the way. Scholarships remove as much of it as donor support allows.
How to ask about a scholarship
- Write to us. Email info@yogaangels.org with your name, where you live, and a few lines about why you want to teach.
- Tell us where you would teach. We give weight to people who plan to teach young people or communities without other access to yoga.
- We reply with next steps. Availability depends on the funds set aside for scholarships at the time.
