Children, young people, families and adults in underserved communities
Where
Jamaica and Los Angeles

Most of the Foundation’s work happens in places that are not yoga studios. Over the years Yoga Angels has taught in schools, churches, corporate offices and correctional facilities, wherever a group of people wanted it and someone opened the door.

What a program can include

Every program is shaped with the host. Common pieces are:

  • Yoga classes for children, teens or adults, adapted for the space and the group
  • Mindfulness and breathing practice that people can use on their own
  • Life skills seminars on conflict resolution, decision making and planning ahead
  • Arts, music and movement, which have always been part of how Yoga Angels teaches, especially with young people
  • Family and community events that bring people together around wellness

How to bring it to your community

Programs run when a school, church, youth group or community organization invites us and we can fund the work together. If you would like to host one, tell us about your group. If you would like to pay for one in a community that cannot, give here.
