A trained teacher can lead a class every week for years. That is why the Foundation puts so much of its effort into training people, rather than only running classes ourselves.

Why scholarships

Teacher training costs money that many good candidates simply do not have. The people best placed to teach in a youth center, a church hall or a community yard are often the ones least able to pay for certification. Scholarships close that gap.

Who they are for

The program was set up for community members, youth workers, and staff in correctional and policing services who will go on to teach where they live and work. In the Foundation’s own words, the aim is to leave “certified community leaders” behind in every place we work.

How it works

Scholarships help cover the cost of yoga teacher training. What we can offer in a given year depends on what donors have given for this purpose.

To ask about the next round, email info@yogaangels.org with a short note about yourself and where you would teach. Read more on our scholarships page.
